Our Review:
If you’re a fan of kamado-style grilling, then this Blaze Kamado grill is the perfect addition to your already existing outdoor, luxury kitchen. With the 304 series stainless steel accents, and made from solid cast aluminum, this grill is durable and long-lasting. There is no need for you to be wary of wear and tear with this kamado grill, as the Blaze Kamado’s trademark saying rings true and it’s “just that tough”!
When opening up your Blaze Kamado grill, you will notice compared to other kamado grills how effortless it is to do so, as the lid has lift-assist hinges that are made from 304 series stainless steel. Not only that, but the lip of the lid does not have a soft gasket like other kamado grills, and alternatively has a patent-pending tongue-and-groove design, which allows for temperature and moisture to not leak out and instead stay trapped inside. Even when opening the lid back up to remove your perfectly seared steaks, the top air vent is grill maestro-friendly and stays in place with how you set the vent opening, allowing for the utmost precision.
Beneath the lid itself, rests the hexagonal 20-inch diameter cooking grids, which also consist of 304 series stainless steel rods. Each side of the grid is hinged and allows for a trouble-free and convenient way of adding in wood chips or charcoal when necessary.
Below the main cooking grid is another stainless steel middle grate, which allows you to grill on both areas at the same time! This kamado grill also comes with an optional Blaze-made rotisserie kit, including a charcoal basket, which is ideal for making something like a succulent, pull-apart chicken, as heat perfectly roasts the food and allows it to self-baste.
At the very bottom of the Blaze Kamado grill lies the charcoal grate, with an ash pan underneath allowing for easy and efficient clean-up. Save time cleaning out ashes in this grill, as opposed to other kamado grills. Keep in mind that unlike other kamado grills, the Blaze Kamado grill can grill with any fuel source – even with lighter fluid and charcoal briquettes!
